Final stages of animations

Class four are undertaking the final stages of their animations.  They have imported the photos into a programme called movie maker, added songs and are now editing each slide. They need to add in credits and titles then their animations are ready to be saved to disc!

Editing the animations hasn't been as easy as we thought it would be.  There have been some group work issues and some technology issues which we have had to overcome.  We have managed to work together to sort these issues and are now looking forward to our animation premier and awards ceremony next week!

Our zodiac star sign

We have spent time looking at constellations and the signs of the zodiac. We learnt that each sign has a different story behind it and that they all have different ideas about individual's personalities.

We thought that some people's star signs were a little bit more accurate than others!

Taking photos of our animations

Class four have started taking photos of our animations. We realised very quickly that it wasn't as easy as we had first thought.

It was a bit tricky to take photos of things but to make sure we could only see the scene in the photo. We even managed to capture photos of a few hands by mistake! We have worked hard to focus the camera in on our scenes and to make sure our character movements were small to make them effective.

Finishing touches to our animations

Class four have been busy putting the finishing touches to our animation scenes and characters. We are now ready to start taking photos.

Lunar theme park challenge

Class four have been set a maths challenge this week. "The year 2050.  Man is now colonising on the moon and you have decided to open the first lunar theme park in history."

They need to think carefully about the rides they are going to include, what other facilities visitors will need and how will visitors get between the facilities and rides.

They have been given a budget and a price list for each item.  The challenge had now begun... Watch this space to find out how they get on!

Setting the scene and making characters

Class four have been busy constructing scenes and characters for our own animations. We have had to think carefully about the background scenery and which characters we want to be able to move in our scenes.

Fairtrade fortnight

As part of fairtrade fortnight class four investigated how cocoa beans are made into chocolate. We researched how much money cocoa farmers received in relation to commercial chocolate companies and we were surprised by our findings. We then decided to write newspaper reports related to the headline...Chocolate is running out!!

We researched the fact that creme eggs have been made much smaller this year due to a lack of chocolate and dairy milk. We then decided we better taste them to compare their taste with Fairtrade chocolates.
We decided they both tasted lovely!!
