This week class four have been busy researching Viking shields. We had to design a symmetrical pattern for our shield.
Once we had finished designing our shields we started to add colour to them using paint.
We thought about the things we had learnt during the Viking walk and drew pictures as part of a thank you card for Sandra and Fran.
Some of us decided to make some Viking cloaks to wear during our Viking feast.
You will have to wait till the feast to see our finished costumes!!
We have been thinking about the design of our longship this week. We are close to finishing the plans and hope to start constructing the ship early next week.
We have been watching a real Up - Helly - AA DVD to help our learning. We have been very shocked and impressed by the time and effort that goes into their costumes and preparations.
We have begun making our own torches which we plan to throw onto our burning longship!
