Class 4 have been learning about the human skeleton. We carried out some research in groups which helped us find out the names of certain bones and why they are so important to our bodies. Mrs Shearer then set us a challenge to make a skeleton using various materials. We've been working hard in groups to make brains, ribcages and the spinal cord so far. Watch this space for pictures of our final models!!

Tag Rugby
Class 4's first session of Tag Rugby went well on Thursday. The class listened carefully to Mark's instructions and learnt how to hold the ball with 2 hands and to dodge the opposite team. We worked hard to practice the skills and are excited to learn other skills over the next few weeks.

RSPB workshop
Class 4 had a visit form Lindsey from the RSPB today. She came to talk to us about sea birds and to explain why some are disappearing from Orkney waters.
We listened carefully to some facts and watched a peedie DVD about the sea animals. We then tested our knowledge by trying to match the words and facts to the correct bird.

Getting to know you
Hoy class have been busy completing challenges and activities this week based around the theme 'getting to know you'. We decided to make a dream tree which holds our targets for the term. We came up with targets then went outside to gather rubbings from various textures. We then cut our rubbings into leaf shapes for our target tree. Next we worked together to make the tree trunk! It was great fun!
